Patch 14.23 of League of Legends is finally here and it introduces quite a few buffs for several champions. These changes aim to balance the current LoL meta and make certain underperforming characters better. The champions receiving improvements are Azir, Master Yi, Miss Fortune, Rammus, and Rengar. Here’s a detailed look at the changes and their potential impacts.
Table of Contents
Azir
Arise! (W)
- AP Ratio: 35/40/45/50/55% ⇒ 40/45/50/55/60%
Azir has long been a decent presence in the mid-lane. However, recent nerfs have reduced his overall performance in LoL. In patch 14.23, Riot Games has decided to walk back some of these nerfs and provide Azir with straightforward buffs to boost his his damage, particularly in the late game.
These changes increase the AP ratio of Azir’s soldiers, granting him more damage potential as the game progresses.
Master Yi
Highlander (R)
- Attack Speed: 25/35/45% ⇒ 25/45/65%
Master Yi's late-game power is getting a slight boost to compensate for recent nerfs to Blade of the Ruined King, a core item in his build. The focus is on buffing his ultimate, Highlander, to make sure it feels impactful in LoL Ranked.

Miss Fortune
Miss Fortune
Double Up (Q)
- Mana: 43/46/49/52/55 ⇒ 40
Miss Fortune has been struggling in the current League of Legends meta, due to itemization nerfs. To counteract this, Riot is making adjustments to her Double Up ability, making it more mana-efficient.
This change reduces the mana cost of Double Up across all ranks, encouraging Miss Fortune players to use this ability way more often during the laning phase.
Rammus
Powerball (Q)
- Cooldown: 16/13.5/11/8.5/6 ⇒ 12/10.5/9/7.5/6
Rammus has been performing slightly underwhelming on the Summoner's rift, particularly in an AD-heavy jungle meta where he should be good. To address this, Riot is buffing his early game by reducing the cooldown of his Powerball ability.
The reduced cooldown on Powerball will improve Rammus’s jungle clear speed and increase his opportunities for early-game ganks.

Rengar
Thrill of the Hunt (R)
- Bonus Damage: 50% total AD ⇒ 100% total AD
- Armor Shred: 12/18/24 ⇒ 15/20/25
Rengar’s not an easy LoL champ which can be seen in his low win rate. To address this, Riot is buffing his ultimate, Thrill of the Hunt, to make it more rewarding and impactful.
These buffs increase the armor shred and bonus damage provided by Thrill of the Hunt, making Rengar’s engagements more lethal and rewarding skilled players who can use this ult properly.
Conclusion
LoL Patch 14.23 has some pretty neat buffs to Azir, Master Yi, Miss Fortune, Rammus, and Rengar. The nerfs might be more but it's good to see Riot Games addressing their recent performance issues and enhancing their gameplay experience. We'll see how this impacts the League of Legends Ranked meta very soon!
