Avowed: Best Companion Team Compositions

Avowed doesn't have that many companions to choose from - only 4. However, the party composition can make all the difference in battle and you can bring two of them along with you at a time. Some companions simply work better together. There's logic behind this so here’s a breakdown of the best party compositions for each build in Avowed.

Best Warrior Party

Recommended Companions: Kai & Giatta / Marius & Giatta / Yatzli & Giatta

As you might notice, Giatta is the key here. Lots of players are sleeping on her because she's a support but that's what actually makes her useful. Lots of damage isn't enough - you need a little click. Warriors thrive in melee, however, they need three key supports: crowd control to keep enemies from overwhelming them, a tank to share the frontline pressure, and healing to sustain their aggressive playstyle.

• Kai: As a fellow frontliner, Kai provides valuable crowd control with Fire and Ire, forcing enemies to focus on him and giving you breathing room to deal heavy damage. His durability ensures that the enemy’s attention is split between the two of you.
• Marius: With Binding Roots, Marius immobilizes enemies, preventing them from dodging your attacks and making them easy targets for your melee combos.
• Giatta: Her Purification provides emergency healing, while Reconstruction offers passive healing over time, ensuring you and Kai can stay in the fight longer.
• Yatzli: Perfect late-game choice, when you have your full tank build and you need a magic kick in your party.

Why This Works: This Avowed team setup allows the Warrior to focus purely on offense, knowing that enemies are immobilized, tanked, and healing is always available when needed. 

Best Mage Party

Recommended Companions: Kai & Giatta

Mages, like in every other game, can be quite squishy. That's why you might want Kai and Giatta on your team - he will tank for you while she can support you. 

• Kai: His Fire and Ire taunt ability forces enemies to focus on him instead of you, keeping you safe while you cast spells.
• Giatta: Not only does she provide healing and shields, but her attack speed buffs also help you unleash spells more quickly.

Why This Works: Kai will absorb damage and Giatta will sustain both of you. This team comp basically keeps your squishy mage safe. 

Best Ranger Party

Recommended Companions: Kai & Giatta / Kai & Marius 

Rangers are similar to mages - they deal damage from a distance while being unable to perform well in melee. This setup will keep you safe

• Kai: Using Leap of Daring, Kai dives into the fray, taunting enemies and drawing their focus.
• Giatta: Similar to the Mage party composition, Giatta can keep both you and Kai safe while you deal with the enemies.
• Marius: Once Kai’s taunt expires, Binding Roots keeps enemies immobilized, preventing them from attacking you.

Why This Works: Kai and Marius provide the perfect setup to keep foes controlled, while Giatta can keep the rest safe.
