As you might already know, Cronos: The New Dawn is a new sci-fi horror game by Bloober Team, that has been in the works for a while. We first heard about this exciting project back in 2021, and in 2022, Private Division announced they were working with Bloober Team on it. Development and Budget

Unlike Silent Hill 2 Remake, Cronos: The New Dawn is a big-budget AAA game. Of course, this means it will be bigger, better, and way more polished. A different team is working on this project, with help from the team that finished Silent Hill 2. Private Division liked the project so much that they increased its budget, which is great news. However, due to cost-cutting at Take-Two, the contract ended, but most production costs were covered. Now, Bloober Team has to handle the final months of production and marketing costs.

Game Focus

Cronos: The New Dawn will focus a lot on the story, and we love to hear that. Mateusz Lenart from Bloober Team said they want their games to tell interesting stories, not just focus on action. Storytelling is key in an era of gaming in which almost every product looks and performs well. This project is part of their plan to become a top developer in the survival horror genre. Well, we sure are rooting for them! Bloober Team has announced they are stopping the creation of walking simulators, so you know they mean business.

  • The trailer for Cronos: The New Dawn has a vibe that's a lot like the Dead Space series. The game’s directors have even said that Dead Space was one of their inspirations.

New Gameplay Trailer & Plot

A new gameplay trailer for Cronos: The New Dawn was released on April 17. The game is set in a world with Eastern European brutalism and retro-futurist technology. Seeing some Eastern European representation is surely new and unexpected in the world of gaming, especially in the last few years when many games, such as Black Myth: Wu-Kong, Rise of The Ronin, Ghost of Tsushima, and Assassin's Creed Shadows focus heavily on Asian culture, starting a new trend.

The story explores changes between the past and future, featuring a big event called The Change that transformed humanity. In this future, players explore wastelands, facing dangerous creatures that require quick reflexes and smart thinking. Can you handle the heat? In CTND you get to play as the Traveler, an agent for the Collective, searching for time rifts that lead to 1980s Poland. Using your Harvester, you find people from the past who died in the apocalypse and bring their essence into the future.
