Blizzard Entertainment has apparently run into some issues, as they have just announced that the launch for the Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred expansion has been delayed. This information was released just an hour before the expansion was supposed to officially launch, and some players might be confused as to what happened and when they can expect the servers to be up. Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred Launch Delayed - Latest Information
The Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred expansion was supposed to launch on October 7th at 4 p.m. PDT, but one hour before the official release, community manager Adam Fletcher posted that there will be a delay due to a technical issue. While we have no information about what this issue actually is, we do know that it will take some time for them to fix it. This is a bit of a shock considering how close they were to actually releasing the expansion, especially given the success of their past few launches.
So, when will Vessel of Hatred actually launch? In the same post, Adam Fletcher mentioned that they still plan to release the expansion this evening, with the hopes that the delay will be "just a couple of hours at most." Here is the full post from the official Blizzard forums:
Hello Wanderers -
We have some late breaking news for our launch for Vessel of Hatred.
We are looking at a small delay for launch due to a small technical issue on our end. We are still expecting Vessel of Hatred to launch this evening, but we will need some additional time to ensure we have every player start at the exact same time across all platforms. At 4pm PDT, we will begin locking out new logins for Diablo IV. Players already logged in prior to 4pm PDT will still be in-game on Patch 1.5.2, but they should expect to lose connection to the game over time while we do additional work to get the simultaneous launch prepared.
We apologize for the late breaking news on the time shift, but this is an important step we need to make to ensure every player can start their journey through Nahantu together.
We will be providing updates in this thread as they become available.
It's also worth noting that if you continue playing Diablo 4 during this delay, you will still be playing on the old patch, and you will likely be disconnected at some point. Hopefully, this issue gets fixed as soon as possible so players can explore all of the new content that is coming to the game, including the new region of Nahantu, the Spiritborn class, and many of the other exciting additions. We will keep an eye on any updates on this issue, and if you are interested in more Diablo 4 news and guides, check out the rest of our website!
