Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred has finally arrived, bringing many new experiences to the world of Sanctuary. From the new campaign and the Spiritborn class, to the region of Nahantu and new endgame activities such as the Dark Citadel co-op dungeon and the Kurast Undercity, there is a wealth of new content added to the game. A couple of new Unique items have also been added, allowing players to experiment with new build ideas if they are lucky enough to get them from endgame bosses in the new Torment difficulties.
One of these bosses is Lord Zir, who is not the hardest encounter in the game, but defeating him is extremely valuable as he drops some of the strongest items available. In this article, we will go over how and where you can summon Lord Zir, as well as the full list of items that can drop from him in the new Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred expansion.

Lord Zir Location & Summon Requirements
The Lord Zir boss fight can be found in the Gale Valley zone within the Fractured Peaks region. The arena can be accessed by going through 'The Darkened Way' entrance, located north of the Yelesna waypoint. You might remember this subzone from the first part of the Diablo 4 campaign.
In order to summon Lord Zir, you are going to need a resource called Exquisite Blood. This resource can mainly be found by completing Legion Events and by defeating World Bosses in the open world. The item can also drop in some of the endgame activities in the Vessel of Hatred expansion, such as the Undercity of Kurast, as well as through bartering at the Mercenary Den. Blood Maidens and Cache Rewards can also drop it, but the best way to farm Exquisite Blood remains through Legion events and World Bosses!

Gathering Legions are open-world events that appear once every 25 minutes, providing players with different objectives and culminating in a boss fight that rewards gear, Murmuring Obols, and Exquisite Blood. Here are some common Legion event locations:
- Fractured Peaks - Kor Dragan Stronghold
- Dry Steppes - Norgoi Vigil.
- Dry Steppes - Temple of Rot
- Hawezar - Crusader's Monument
- Hawezar - Haunted Wreckage.
- Kehjistan - Alcarnus
- Kehjistan - Dilapidated Aqueducts.
- Nahantu - Seven Stones
World Bosses spawn once every 3 hours and 30 minutes, and defeating them will reward players with gear, a weekly bonus cache, as well as Exquisite Blood. Here are the locations where World Bosses can spawn in Diablo 4:
- The Crucible in the Fractured Peaks.
- Caen Adar in Scosglen.
- Saraan Caldera in the Dry Steppes.
- Seared Basin in Kehjistan.
- Fields of Desecration in Hawezar.
- The Cauldron in Nahantu.
Once you have 12x Exquisite Blood, you will be able to summon and fight Lord Zir.
How to Summon Lord Zir
Lord Zir can only be found and summoned while playing on any of the new Torment difficulties introduced in the Vessel of Hatred expansion. This means that you will need to reach level 60 and complete a Tier 20 run of the Pit before you can summon him. Higher Torment difficulties will make the fight much harder, with an increased life pool and damage for him, while your character receives penalties to armor and resistances. However, defeating him on higher difficulties will be much more rewarding, with more Unique items dropping and an increased chance of getting Mythics.
Here are the materials needed to summon Lord Zir on any of the four Torment difficulties:
- 12x Exquisite Blood
Don't forget that you can use the new party finder to create and join groups of players, so you can share the materials in a rotation, making it much more efficient and rewarding.
