Fields of Mistria is the hottest game from the cozy farming sim genre. Since its release on August 5, 2024, it has gained a stable following of gamers with over 10,000 reviews on Steam and an Overwhelmingly Positive score. Although it is still in Early Access, the game has a ton of content for fans of the genre to go through, and earlier this week it received a major update featuring a ton of additions to almost all features of the game. Let’s check what this first major update has in store.

Villagers and Romance
Following the release of this update, all romanceable NPCs will now have their Heart Level increased to 6 from the previous 4 and will receive new 6 Heart Events for you to experience.

Mines and Dungeon
If you’re like us, you’re probably spending a ton of time in the mines, and let’s be honest, sometimes it can get a bit boring. Well, not anymore, as the new update will add new Monsters to the Mines to make them a bit spicier. In addition, the Mines will now drop new rare cosmetics, so keep your eyes open for those.
Town and Renown
Another great update is the increase of the Renown Level cap to 70! The new levels will give you new rewards and more time to grind. In addition, you can now pick up Crown Requests, which unlock after Renown Level 50, as well as explore the new Museum sets and rewards added to Insect, Archaeology, and Fish Wings in the Museum. Another new addition are the new items added to Merri’s, Vera’s, and Louis’ booths, so make sure to check them out.
Lastly, a new Shooting Star Festival has been added, and it takes place on the 28th day of Summer. You can invite romanceable NPCs that you’ve reached 4+ Hearts with to watch the festival with you.

Skills and Perks
One of the biggest additions in this update is the inclusion of Mounts. Yes, you heard us right, Mounts. Following the new update, you’ll be able to unlock the Mount Feature after repairing Hayden’s barn, so don’t waste any more time and get to it! Another thing to know is that the Skill Level caps have been increased from 30 to 45 and that Tier 4 Skills are now available, so make sure to hop into Fields of Mistria and check them out!
Customization and Cosmetics
The last bit of content we’ll look at has to do with customization and cosmetic features that have been added in v0.12.0. One of those includes two new home upgrades that will each add an additional room. The other additions include new furniture and decor, new player cosmetics and hair, and new animal cosmetics. All in all, there is a ton of stuff to explore during the new version, so be sure to set aside a weekend or two and explore everything new that Fields of Mistria has to offer in version 0.12.0!
