Following a weekend full of action with clean 2-0 series, the LEC is gearing up towards and even more explosive week of pro play. With G2 and KC going undefeated, the remaining 6 teams have one last opportunity to prove themselves worthy to represent the region at the First Stand tournament later in March.
With that in mind, let us take a look at the first Bo5 match from 2025 LEC Winter Playoffs Upper Round 3 between G2 Esports and Karmine Corp.

2025 LEC Winter Playoffs Format
The 2025 League of Legends EMEA Championship Playoffs will feature the new Fearless Draft format. With that in mind, we can expect the teams to deliver some top of the line plays along with some shenanigans like pocket picks and non-meta champions given the strategic limitations of a diminishing champion pool.

Right off the bat, G2 started out the first game in the series in a very dominant fashion as Hans Sama's Ezreal quickly became the win condition for the team. With Labrov's Blitzcrank effectively roaming the entire map and setting up kills, KC seemed incapable of dealing with the amount of aggression.
A fantastic play around Atakhan further cemented G2's advantage by acing the enemy team. After a successful Baron take, G2 once again wiped KC and quickly marched towards the enemy team's Nexus, securing the first win in the Bo5.

A far better game on the side of KC as G2's reliance on pulling off a combo with the Nocturne, Aurora and Galio set them behind. The French org ran circles around G2, ultimately establishing a very significant gold lead and equalizing the series 1-1.

A fairly neutral state at the start, however, G2 was able to win some crucial early-game and slowly but surely build up a gold advantage as KC got less and less objectives and resources to work with. Yet again, the wombo combo setup did not pan out, and although Caps was caught off-guard at Drake, this did not stop G2 Esports from ending the game in a very decisive fashion.

A straightforward early game with both teams looking to get a kill on the bot lane, however after several burnt Summoner Spells, no team was able to create any sort of an advantage up until the 10-minute mark.
KC drafted a rather short-range comp, especially when playing into Anivia and Braum which proved fatal for the French org when fighting around Atakhan. A final bloody fight secured G2 the series going 3-1 in a very clean fashion.
With G2 now locked into the Finals, MKOI, FNC and KC still have a chance to face the Kings of the LEC.
