The LEC Spring Playoffs are finally here and fans are more than excited to see the top performing teams duke it out in best-of-five matches. Given the major upsets during the Regular Season, the region has seen significant shifts in power with G2 Esports no longer dominating the scene, and Karmine Corp, Fnatic and Movistar KOI taking the reigns from the former reigning champions.
Let us not forget for the underdogs GIANTX and Team Heretics as they showed amazing improvements over the course of the Spring Regular Season as they also have a chance at causing some major upsets. Having said that, let's take a look at the League of Legends EMEA Championship 2025 Spring Playoffs.

LEC 2025 Spring Playoffs Format
After the Regular Season, fans and analysts saw some great best-of-three series between the best of the best as the LEC finally feels like it's not a one-team region. It is interesting to see how the teams will perform during the Playoffs.
With that being said, here is the format:
- Top 6 Teams from the Regular Season
- Double Elimination Bracket
- 1st to 4th start in the Upper Bracket
- 5th and 6th start in the Lower Bracket
- All Matches are Best-of-Five (Bo5)
- Top 2 teams qualify for the 2025 Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) and the Esports World Cup 2025

G2 had a great start to the series, seemingly laying waste to MKOI and winning the first game, however, MKOI proved to be quite the tough opponent when pushed against the wall as G2 nearly threw the second game during an Elder Drake fight, but ultimately got their 2-0 scoreline in the end.
Despite G2 once gaining an advantage in the third game, MKOI was able to punish and finally strike back. During the fourth game, Hans Sama got a great cash out on his passive which gave G2 quite the advantage over MKOI. Out of nowhere, G2 blew the game wide open, getting a massive 10K gold lead at the 26-minute mark.
Finally, G2 defeated MKOI going 3-1 and securing their spot at the Mid-Season Invitational 2025 tournament.
