The Version 5.2 update for Genshin Impact is almost upon us, and we can’t wait for its release this Wednesday, November 20, 2024. The new update will introduce a new area for players to explore while also giving us the chance to try out two new Saurians, making our exploration of Natlan even more fun. However, we all know we’re not here for just that. A new version also means new characters, and we finally have confirmation on the banners for the first phase of the version, so let’s go ahead and take a better look at them!
Table of Contents
Phase One Character Banners
The first phase of Version 5.2 will feature two character banners known as [Piercing Shot's Crimson Wake] and [Conjuring Chiaroscuro]. The former will feature an entirely new 5-star character in the face of Chasca (Anemo - Bow), while the latter will feature a rerun of the 5-star character Lyney (Pyro - Bow). Both of these characters will be available starting from the release of Version 5.2 and will be here to stay for a bit more than two weeks. Discover more details about each banner below.

Piercing Shot's Crimson Wake will feature a boosted drop rate for the NEW 5-star character Chasca, while also featuring boosted drop rates for the following 4-star characters:
- NEW Ororon (Electro - Bow)
- Sucrose (Anemo - Catalyst)
- Barbara (Hydro - Catalyst)
Chasca will certainly be on a lot of people’s radars due to her ability to fly through the skies of Teyvat, which is a movement ability, unlike anything we’ve seen up until now. Yes, Cloud Retainer can technically move through the air, but it is not a complete flying mechanic like the one in Chasca’s kit. Just her exploration ability alone makes Chasca a great pick, but being an Anemo DPS increases her value even more due to the sheer number of teams she can be used on. If you’ve been lacking an Anemo DPS character, then you might want to give Chasca a try.

Conjuring Chiaroscuro will feature a boosted drop rate for the 5-star character Lyney (Pyro - Bow), while also increasing the drop rate for the following 4-star characters:
- NEW Ororon (Electro - Bow)
- Sucrose (Anemo - Catalyst)
- Barbara (Hydro - Catalyst)
Ever since his release, Lyney has proven himself to be a solid Pyro DPS for those who love seeing big numbers and tend to lean more towards a burst DPS playstyle that involves timing your other characters’ abilities to boost your main damage dealer. Although Lyney’s use scenarios have dwindled with the introduction of other Pyro DPS units, he is still a good addition to any Pyro team and a good choice if you’re looking to expand your Pyro roster.

4-star Weapons |

The weapon banner this time around will feature 2 5-star bows known as the:
- NEW Astral Vulture's Crimson Plumage
- The First Great Magic
Both of these bows grant their wielders a great boost in both ATK and Crit DMG%, making them a great pick for almost any DPS bow user. Given that the banner features two 5-star weapons of the same kind, now is a great time to pull if you’ve been wanting to get your hands on a 5-star bow but weren’t confident in pulling on previous banners. In addition to the 5-star weapons mentioned above, this weapon banner will also feature boosted drop rates for the following 4-star weapons:
- Waveriding Whirl (Catalyst)
- Flower-Wreathed Feathers (Bow)
- The Flute (Sword)
- The Bell (Claymore)
- Favonius Lance (Polearm)
We wish the best of luck to anyone pulling on the phase one banners, and may you get the characters and weapons you want!
