Varesa is a 5-star Electro unit that uses a Catalyst as her weapon. She is a main DPS unit that focuses on plunge attacks to deal the majority of her damage, and her whole kit revolves around buffing her plunge attacks and giving her more opportunities to do plunge attacks. The way Varesa transitions into a plunge attack state is by pressing her E skill and then performing a Charged Attack that launches her into the air. This then allows her to do a plunge attack to deal a lot of damage.
Varesa has a slightly unique combo sequence due to the way her Ultimate works. Varesa’s ultimate has two ways of activation. One is when her Energy is full, which allows Varesa to do a powerful hit with high multipliers, and the other is when it’s performed during a plunge attack. During plunge attacks, Varesa can consume a bit of her Ultimate charge to do a secondary plunge attack that does a bit less damage but still provides good damage overall.
All in all, Varesa is a solid DPS unit that pairs well with characters that can buff her ATK% off the field, and she’s great in overloaded teams that feature the other new unit, Iansan.

When using an Elemental Skill, All Elemental DMG Bonus will be increased by 8% for 15s, and a Bond of Life worth 24% of Max HP will be granted. This effect can be triggered once every 10s. When the Bond of Life is cleared, every 1,000 HP cleared in the process will provide 2% All Elemental DMG Bonus, up to a maximum of 12%. This effect lasts 15s. |
There is no doubt that Varesa’s best-in-slot weapon is her signature, the Vivid Notions. This weapon gives Varesa huge CRIT DMG buffs and is, overall, a huge DPS boost from any other weapon choice for her. Having said that, she can use other good options to still deal decent damage.

As far as relics are concerned, you might be out of luck, as Varesa’s current best set is the newly added [Long Night's Oath]. This set gives Varesa up to 100% Plunge Attack DMG, and since most, if not all, of Varesa’s damage comes from plunge attacks, this is the set you always want to have on her.
