Genshin Impact Version 5.1 is right around the corner with a confirmed release date of October 9, 2024. As with any new version, we can expect a ton of new content, but most importantly, we’ll finally get to meet new characters and pull on new banners! The new character that will be coming out in Version 5.1 is a Natlan 5-star character named Xilonen. Xilonen will be part of the phase one banners alongside Chiori and a set of 4-star characters. So let’s check out what we can expect from the phase one banners below!

Character Banners
The first phase of version 5.1 will feature two character banners titled Forgefire's Blessing and Of Silken Clouds Woven. Both banners will begin alongside the release of Version 5.1 this Wednesday, October 9, 2024, and will be available for a bit more than two weeks, hopefully giving you enough time to get the characters. Now let’s dive into more details about each of these banners.

The Forgefire's Blessing banner will feature the NEW 5-star character Xilonen. Xilonen is the newest addition to the Geo Element in Genshin. From what we’ve seen from her, we can summarize that she is an amazing support who can boost the team’s overall damage, heal them, and provide resistance shred. All in all, Xilonen is an amazing all-around support who excels at not only buffing but also dealing damage.
Alongside Xilonen, you can expect to see the following 4-star characters receive a rate-up:
- Dori (Electro)
- Candace (Hydro)
- Collei (Dendro)

Of Silken Clouds Woven is the second banner to be present in the phase one character banners, and it will feature the 5-star Geo character, Chiori. Chiori is an interesting character that was added not that long ago and was unfortunately not that popular with the players. She takes up a unique sub-dps role, where she is great for Geo teams but feels a bit clunky when used with teams without any Geo characters. However, with the addition of Xilonen, she might just rise in the tier list, so if you’re a fan of Chiori, now might be a good time to pull the stops for her!
Similar to the Forgefire’s Blessing banner, the 4-star rate-up characters for Chiori’s banner are:

Now that we’ve taken care of the character banners, it is time to turn our attention to the weapon banner, which this time will feature a brand NEW 5-star sword, Peak Patrol Song, while also featuring the returning Uraku Misugiri (Sword). It has been some time since we’ve seen a weapon banner with two weapons of the same type, so if you’re a player who prefers Sword characters, then this banner might just be for you.
The new Peak Patrol Song is a good DEF sword, which is Xilonen’s Signature weapon but can also be used on other Sword characters who stack with DEF, such as Albedo, for example. The Uraku Misugiri, on the other hand, is a CRIT DMG-based weapon that has a unique effect tailored strictly for Chiori, but if you’re simply looking for a stat stick, then it can also be good for characters such as Clorinde and Alhaitham.
The banner will additionally feature a rate-up increase for the following 4-star weapons:
- Sturdy Bone (Sword)
- Mountain-Bracing Bolt (Polearm)
- Sacrificial Greatsword (Claymore)
- Favonius Codex (Catalyst)
