Genshin Impact Version 5.4 System Optimizations

The livestream for Genshin Impact’s newest update, Version 5.4 [Moonlight Amidst Dreams], took place today and revealed everything we needed to know about the upcoming version. It shared with us information about the new character, Yumemizuki Mizuki, and the three other characters that will be rerunning this version. It dove deeper into the events we can expect and what rewards we can hope to get if we complete them all, and lastly, it revealed details about various system optimization features that players can expect from the new version. These system optimizations came in various forms of quality-of-life content that is already present in some of miHoYo’s other games and is finally making its way to Genshin Impact. Below you can find a more in-depth breakdown of the various system optimization features that we will get in Version 5.4.

Training Guide Update

The Training Guide is one of the newer features of Genshin Impact. It allows players to choose a character they want to level, and the Training Guide helps guide them through the process of building that character. Following the release of Version 5.4, the Training Guide will now allow players to set up a [Level-Up Plan] for characters. 

This system will automatically calculate all of the required materials and quantities you need to level the character to the point you’ve chosen, and it will show a unique [Leveling Up] marker on those materials in the Adventurer Handbook so that you have a better idea of what you need to farm and how much of it you have left. Similar markers will also appear in the Battle Pass rewards and Domain Entrances to make the process easier. Lastly, you will also see the unique [Leveling Up] marker change whenever you have enough of a material, meaning that you can proceed with a new one. Generally, this is a great change that will help new players immensely, as it will speed up the farming process.

Weapon Interface Optimization

After Version 5.4, players will now be able to filter their weapons by secondary attributes to make finding the right weapon easier. In addition, when in the filter interface, you will see two recommended attributes for the character you’re currently using to help you quickly identify the best options for that unit.

Weapon Refinement Update

Following the release of Version 5.4, you will now be able to auto-add a number of refinement materials when increasing a weapon’s refinement. No more will you have to click through and unlock each weapon. This is not a huge change, but definitely, one that will remove a slight annoyance that has been present ever since the release of Genshin Impact.

Character Interface Optimization

If you have a lot of characters, then finding one of your lower-leveled characters can be a pain, and you’ll often find yourself scrolling to the side. With Version 5.4, the developers have added an Elemental Type Filter under the character’s icons that allows you to filter for characters from a specific Element, allowing you to find the character you’re looking for way quicker.

Serenitea Pot Adjustments

Lastly, with the release of Version 5.4, players will not be able to interact with Tubby anywhere inside the Serenitea Pot. No more will you have to go directly to them, which will honestly save a great deal of time and make the whole process of using the Serenitea Pot less tedious. You’ll be able to contact Tubby at any time to switch your realm’s layout, create furnishings, and even access the Realm Depot, so if you’ve been on the fence about using the Serenitea Pot, you might want to give it a try with this new update.
