Fishing is one of the best activities to do in any cozy game and the activity that is bound to devour most of your time. Which is why it is also present in Hello Kitty Island Adventure. With most of the main story being locked behind real-life time, you’ll definitely want to find ways to keep playing more, and fishing is one of the best ways to spend your time in the game. But how do you unlock it? Well, it’s not all that hard. Fishing can be unlocked early on and can even be done on the first day you start playing the game!

How to Unlock Fishing
To unlock fishing, you will need to get the Fishing Rod. The Fishing Rod can be obtained from the [Keep it Reel] quest. This quest will become available after you raise your Friendship Level with Badtz-maru to Level 3, which you can do by giving him a [Pineapple Stack Cake] or even [Coconuts]. After you’ve completed the [Keep it Reel] quest, you will be prompted to craft the Fishing Rod. Crafting the Fishing Rod requires the following materials:
- Stick (10)
- Thread (3)
- Gizmo (1)
After you obtain all of the above materials, head to the Crafting Table and craft the Fishing Rod. Upon crafting the Fishing Rod you will get a quest to go back to Badtz-maru so that he can teach you how to fish.

How to Fish
Fishing in Hello Kitty Island Adventure involves a simple mini-game where you have to press the left and right keys on your keyboard to try and keep the indicator in the green area to quickly reel in the fish you’ve caught. To start this mini-game, you first have to go near a body of water, equip the [Fishing Rod], and press the [T] key to begin fishing. Once you’ve thrown out your fishing line, you should wait for a fish to bite. This is indicated with a big red exclamation point. Once you see the exclamation mark, press the Fishing Rod button again, and you will start the mini-game.
During the mini-game, press the left and right keys to try and keep the indicator in the green area so that you reel in fish the fastest. By keeping at it, you should be able to catch your first fish in no time!
