The best gifts you can give Keroppi in the early game are various types of Rare Critters or Fish. These include the [Dragondarter] and the [Bog Clamfish]. For new players, we generally recommend trying to catch the [Bog Clamfish] as you unlock Fishing earlier than the Net, and you don’t have to run around the whole island looking for critters. You can catch a Bog Clamfish in the Spooky Swamp. Bog Clamfishes are 4-value gifts, and by giving one to Keroppi, you will be rewarded with 4 Sugarkelp.

If you aren’t a fan of fishing or are simply looking for something better than the Bog Clamfish, then you can try your shot at finding a [Bush Friend]. These little buggers are critters that can be found in the Spooky Swamp and are generally hiding in the Hedge Maze of the area. They are classified as an Uncommon critter, and each of them is a 5-value gift that will net you 5 Sugarkelp. The Bush Friends can be hard to spot, so if you don’t manage to get one, you can always go back to fishing and try to get more Bog Clamfish.
