Firefly is the first new 5-star character to appear with the release of version 2.3, and she is going to be the first 5-star Fire Destruction unit to join the game.

Given that Fire units are scarce as of now, especially good DPS ones, Firefly might be a tempting pick for a lot of players.

Today we’ll go over if you should be pulling for Firefly and if she’s worth your Stellar Jades.

Is Firefly Good?

Before addressing whether Firefly is good or not, we should go over what type of unit she is and what she’s good at.

Getting straight to it, Firefly is a 5-star Fire Destruction unit that will fill up the Main DPS slot on most of your teams. From what we’ve seen of her kit, Firefly is set to be a Break Effect DPS, and she will further expand on the trend of Break Effect DPS units, following right after Boothill.

Since Boothill’s release, we have understood just how powerful Break Effect DPS units can actually be, and with the addition of the Harmony Trailblazer that further boosts the power of Break Effect units, they have honestly become powerhouses.

As such, there are high expectations for Firefly. From what we’ve seen in the various Early Access videos of her, we can safely say that Firefly is without a doubt a powerful DPS that is also quite easy to build for F2P players, as she doesn’t require a crazy crit ratio, given that most of her damage will come from her Break Effect stat. This, coupled with a great F2P Light Cone option, makes Firefly quite desirable.

Should You Pull for Firefly?

As with any other character in any gacha game, it’s hard to say whether you should pull for any specific unit. In Firefly’s case, you should first consider the following things:

  • Do you need a new DPS unit?
  • Do you already have a solid Fire DPS?
  • Do you have good Break Effect support units?
  • Do you hate Firefly’s character?

Firefly is without a doubt going to fill the gap in a fire main DPS that has been vacant for quite some time. However, to do so, she might need a bit of support because, even though Break Effect DPS units are good on their own, they become amazing with a good set of supports. Some of these units include:

  • Ruan Mei
  • Robin
  • Harmony Trailblazer

Any of these units will be a great addition to any Break Effect DPS, with Harmony Trailblazer and Ruan Mei being the best ones.

Given that Firefly can be easily built using some F2P Light Cones and already has good F2P support in the face of the Harmony Trailblazer, while also being the first official Fire DPS, she has a lot going for her.

Looking purely at meta, we believe that Firefly is a solid 7/10 when it comes to must-pull units, mainly due to her being the only Fire main DPS and being easy to build, while also having a good set of F2P teammates.

If you’re just starting a fresh account and looking for a unit to pull on, she won’t disappoint you, and if you’re a veteran looking to expand your roster, then she’s going to add quite a bit to your account as well. All in all, Firefly is a solid investment and will likely remain viable for quite a bit before she gets replaced by a new Fire DPS unit.
