The controversial creature-collecting game Palworld gives players access to a brutal item - the meat cleaver. Equipping this ruthless tool enables permanently eliminating beloved pals in exchange for resources. Here is how to obtain the schematic for Palworld's meat cleaver and then utilize its grim butchering functionality.

How to Craft Meat Cleaver in Palworld?
Unlocking the meat cleaver recipe requires reaching level 12 and spending 2 Tech Points. Bring up the Technology tree and select the Meat Cleaver icon to learn how to craft it.
You'll need these materials available:
- 20 Wood
- 5 Stone
- 5 Metal Ingots
Chop trees for basic wood. Mine stone nodes and copper deposits then smelt copper ore in a furnace for metal ingots.
With materials gathered, approach any workbench like the Primitive Workbench. Open the Weapons tab, select Meat Cleaver, and craft your macabre new equipment.

How to Butcher Pals in Palworld?
Once equipped, the meat cleaver shows up as a standard melee weapon. But its true purpose lies in Pal butchering.
Here is how to permanently butcher a Pal:
- Equip the meat cleaver in your weapon slot
- Summon the chosen doomed Pal with the Pal menu
- Open the radial Pal command menu
- Select the "Butcher" command at the very top
A censored sequence will play out showing your character brutally chopping the Pal into a vanished corpse. This permanently removes that Pal from your collection in exchange for item drops like meat.
Be warned that once you butcher a Pal, they can never be recovered. While disturbing, clearing space and farming resources make the meat cleaver an effective controversial tool.
The meat cleaver also works on human NPCs if players ever feel curious about exploring more deranged scenarios. Just don't expect the game to reward such psychopathic behavior!
