Players will be able to travel to select locations marked on your map with a blue shield. All you have to do is press on your desired shield and off you go. This can be quite useful when trying to cover long distances or simply if you want to save some time traveling on foot. Keep in mind, that you must first discover the specific destination before being able to fast travel there.

Once you have chosen your destination, the game will generate a dotted route your character will follow, but keep in mind that fast travel is not instantaneous but rather a more convenient way for you to reach far-away towns. You should also keep in mind that although fast travel can save you some precious minutes in real-time, your character might be far slower in-game, as you will not go through any shortcuts when opting to manually travel.

Keep in mind that you cannot use the fast travel option if your current exceeds your maximum carrying capacity which you can see at the bottom of your inventory screen. You can also travel between regions, but you must first complete the "Storm" story line quest.

Random Encounters

There is also an in-game mechanic that will sometimes interrupt your travels as random encounters can be generated. Encounters can be positive, neutral, and negative, possibly depending on the time of day it occurs. You have the option to avoid/flee, or you can try out your luck.

There is also a side quest you can complete called "Mutt" that unlocks a trusted dog by your side that can sniff out incoming encounters and warn you preemptively. This will increase your chances of escaping a harrowing fate or give you a nice heads-up if you are looking for some action.

And that covers everything you need to know about fast travel in Kingdom Come: Deliverance II. Best of luck on your adventures, and remember to down a pint or two and enjoy the scenery.
