Yasuke is one of the two playable characters in Assassin's Creed Shadows. Similar to Naoe, he has various different ability trees to go through and offers a completely unique experience. Yasuke can be unlocked by finishing the Temple of the Horseman quest chain, and after you obtain him, you’ll be able to switch between him and Naoe.

How to Unlock Yasuke
Players can unlock Yasuke by completing the quest [Temple of the Horseman]. After completing this quest, you will then be required to complete the short quests [Lightning and Thunder] and [Mibuno Showdown]. After completing the three above quests, you will finish the AC Shadow’s first story arc and gain the ability to explore the world by switching between either Yasuke or Naoe.

Yasuke Available Abilities
As we’ve already mentioned Yasuke is different than Naoe when it comes to the abilities and weapons he can use. Unlike Naoe, Yasuke uses heavier weapons, uses heavier armor, and generally focuses on a brawled approach, rather than using stealth. Yasuke has the following ability trees:
- Long Katana
- Naginata
- Bow
- Teppo
- Samurai
- Kanabo

How to Switch Between Characters
After you finish the [Mibuno Showdown] quest and complete the first act, you will be allowed to explore the open world of AC Shadows and switch between your two characters. You can switch between the characters by opening the map and choosing to fast travel or by going into the inventory.
Fast Travel
Whenever you try to fast travel on the map, you will be given two prompts. One will just say [Fast Travel], while the other will say [Fast Travel - Character Name]. The first option will teleport you while keeping your currently active character, while the second option will teleport you and switch the active character.
Inventory Switch
After you unlock Yasuke, you can navigate to your inventory menu and switch your characters from there. At the bottom of the screen in the inventory, you will notice a button prompt that will allow you to switch between Yasuke and Naoe.
