Is Armor Still Bugged in Helldivers 2?

With the server issues finally being addressed, Arrowhead Game Studios can finally start improving upon the base game of Helldivers 2, largely by fixing bugs and adding new content over time. There have been a couple of notable patches over the past few weeks, with most of them focusing on fixing some of the more annoying bugs in the game.

However, the game still has a few known issues that have not been fixed, as most of the developers were preoccupied with the longstanding server issues that were present for the first few weeks. One of these issues is a bug that has made Armor Values of your body armor obsolete, giving little reason to use anything tanky. In this article, we are going to provide an update on whether or not the armor issue has finally been fixed in Helldivers 2.

Is Armor Still Bugged in Helldivers 2?

As of patch 1.000.100, which was released on the 6th of March, the Armor bug has finally been fixed in Helldivers 2.

Aside from some of the perks, there is still no reason to use higher Armor Values in the game, so we recommend sticking to some of the lighter options. Luckily, Arrowhead Game Studios is aware of the bug, as it was listed in one of the 'known issues' bullet points that they had written down in the patch notes. Here is what the studio had to say about the Armor bug in patch 1.000.13:

Armor values for light/medium/heavy armor do not currently function as intended.

So when can we expect this bug to finally be fixed? The game has been out for a couple of weeks at this point, and the issue still persists. Well, as we discussed in one of our previous articles, the next big Helldivers 2 content update is scheduled to be released on March 14th. This update is going to add the next Warbond in the game, allowing players to unlock new weapons, armor, and boosters, which will help them spread managed democracy across the galaxy.

Unless the issue is harder to fix than anticipated, we expect it to be resolved alongside that update. We can't wait to see some beefier Helldivers join the fray, as the Armor system is one of the core customization options in the game.
