Lords of the Fallen (2023) Guide - Helping Kukajin's statue

In the early Forsaken Fen region of Lords of the Fallen, one of the primary NPC quests you'll encounter involves aiding the Kukajin statue. As you explore the treacherous and poisonous swamp, you'll learn the tale of a mercenary who suffered a peculiar fate, turning into stone due to a magical accessory. Unfortunately, her companion, the sorcerer Wilmarc, met his demise at the hands of hostile locals. The Kukajin statue now lies concealed within a cave.

To locate the Kukajin statue, follow these steps:

Step 1: Unlock the Shortcut

First, ensure you've unlocked the shortcut near the Vestige of Valade in the Forsaken Fen. This will be your starting point for finding Kukajin.

Step 2: Discover Kukajin's Location

Proceed to a prominent burning pyre area with Shuja warriors and a pool adjacent to it. Beside this pool, you'll notice a cave covered in roots that you can break open. As you approach, you'll hear Kukajin's humming.

Now, you have two choices regarding the Kukajin statue:

Option 1: Free Her

To liberate Kukajin from her petrified state, you must cure the affliction using the Sanctify spell. Obtain this spell after defeating the Pieta, She of Blessed Renewal boss. Simply ascend the stairs after the arena to retrieve it from a chest. The Sanctify spell requires 18 Radiance and a Radiant Catalyst. Alternatively, there's the Cleansing Spring spell with an 8 Radiance requirement, which you can purchase from Exacter Dunmire after defeating the Gentle Gaverus boss.

By freeing Kukajin, she will reward you with the Pendant of Induration, enhancing your Physical Defense. Additionally, you can acquire Wilmarc's Catalyst from behind her location after she departs.

Option 2: Shatter Her

If you don't intend to invest in Radiance or are uninterested in her quest, you can choose to destroy the Kukajin statue. This action will result in her demise but grant you Kukajin's Sword, a formidable weapon that inflicts both bleed and poison damage. You can also claim the catalyst located behind her statue.

Next Steps After Freeing Kukajin

If you decide to free Kukajin, you can encounter her again at Skyrest Bridge, inside one of the cells near the vestige. There, she will offer her assistance as a potential summon during boss fights.
