Just yesterday, the developers behind Marvel Rivals shared their 14th volume of their well-received Dev Talk, or developer’s talk, where they give a bit of insight into things behind the curtains and what we can expect going forward. This dev talk touched upon two topics, one of which concerns a new event that will introduce a ton of free prizes for players, and the other a feature that the players have been anticipating for quite some time. Galacta’s Gift
Galacta’s Gift will be a new event that will be added to Marvel Rivals with the May 15th update. The developers have expressed that May 13th marked the one-year anniversary of the game going into Closed Alpha Test, and they have been eager to share their gratitude for their players, who have stuck with the game and continue playing to this day.
The Galacta’s Gift event will feature a ton of free rewards, ranging from nameplates and sprays to Chrono Shields Cards that players will be able to get for free just by playing the game. However, the biggest reward of them all is the [Costume Coin]. This Costume Coin will allow us to pick any one of the debut costumes for the 33 heroes that were featured in Season 0. Costumes are one of the more important features of Marvel Rivals and are a great way for players to connect with their favorite heroes further, so giving out a free costume as a thank-you gift is certainly a gesture that most players will be happy with.

Season 0 Return
The second topic that was brought up during the dev talk was the matter of seasons, and namely, Season 0. Seasons in Marvel Rivals work in a unique way where, after a player purchases a season, they can continue playing it forever and even continue unlocking its rewards in future seasons. This is a feature that the developers say has been greatly welcomed by the community. However, the devs also mention that a lot of players feel eager to experience Season 0, as they might have missed out on it when it first released. Due to this, they have decided to offer a limited-time rerun of the S0 Battle Pass so that everyone who started later can now experience it and get all of the sweet rewards it has to offer. Remember, Battle Passes in Marvel Rivals never expire, so this will be your chance to overcome that FOMO from S0 and get that Battle Pass at last!
The S0 Battle Pass will begin on May 15th alongside the new update and will be available for purchase until May 29, 2025, for a price of 590 Lattice. This Battle Pass will offer no free rewards, and all the rewards will require the Luxury Battle Pass. The developers have also stated that future Battle Pass returns might occur, but any such plans will span at least two seasons and be priced at a minimum of 20% higher than the original seasonal rate.
