The most straightforward way to get your hands on some mud is to find it naturally generated in the world. Mud blocks spawn abundantly in the Mangrove Swamp biome.

To harvest a mud block, simply break it with your hand or any tool. A shovel will be the quickest, but anything works. Once broken, the mud block will drop as an item for you to collect.

If you're not near a Mangrove Swamp or just want to make mudblocks on demand, you're in luck. Mud has a unique crafting method:

  1. Fill a glass bottle with water to make a Water Bottle
  2. Use the Water Bottle on a block of Dirt, Coarse Dirt, or Rooted Dirt
  3. The dirt block will turn into a mud block

  • Mud Brick Slabs, Stairs & Walls: Crafted with Mud Bricks
