Monster Hunter Wilds is the newest addition to the Monster Hunter franchise and the spiritual successor of Monster Hunter World. Unlike Monster Hunter Rise, which took on a more easy-to-handle art style, Monster Hunter Wilds pushes the graphics for the game and is expected to bring us an experience way better than that of Monster Hunter World. However, with better graphics also come stricter requirements, and thus not all of the older consoles will be able to run the game. As such, in this piece, we’ll look at the currently available consoles and share with you all of the platforms you can play Monster Hunter Wilds on.

Available Platforms at Launch

At its launch on February 28, 2025, Monster Hunter Wilds will be available on the following platforms:
- PC (Steam)
- PlayStation 5
- Xbox Series X|S
It sadly will not be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, or Nintendo Switch due to the harsh requirements for the game. The game will also be unavailable to Mac users, and currently, it is unlikely that we will see the platform be ported to Mac, given that none of the previous iterations of the franchise have a port for the platform.

Best Platform to Play On
The best platform to play Monster Hunter Wilds will naturally be PC. However, this also comes with drawbacks, as to run the game, you will need to have quite a beefy PC. Monster Hunter Wilds’ ridiculous system requirements have been a hot topic amongst the community, and it is something that is still going on today, so while you may get the best graphics, the highest framerates, and the best experience on PC, you will also need to dish out a couple of thousand bucks to meet those high requirements.
Having said that, playing on both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S is also a great way to enjoy the series, and while you won’t see all the graphical fidelity the game has to offer, you will be able to enjoy it in a stable way!
