A-Tier MHW Multiplayer Weapons

Longsword
Balanced offense and defense. Spirit combos and tail-cutting versatility.
- Make sure your party members have at least 1 level of Brace, so they won't get flinched by your attacks.

Switch Axe
Morphing strikes and massive explosions. Huge damage when mastered.
- Switch Axe can be very useful in a co-op hunt, especially when utilizing its grapple attacks.
- As a Switch Axe user, your designated mission is to grapple, wound, exhaust extend, etc.

Greatsword
Extreme damage but high risk. Charged attacks require strict timing.
- While Greatsword is the biggest damage dealer in the game, it's not as easy to use it in multiplayer.
- Even if you know the timings to do the charge attacks, sometimes the monster's behavior is unexpected in a co-op hunt, making it more difficult to land a combo.

- In multiplayer hunts, sometimes it's hard to land a perfect SAED because of the monster's unexpected behavior.

Summary
When assembling a co-op squad in Monster Hunter World, team composition and weapon synergies are crucial to success. Striking the right balance between damage dealers, disruptors and supports will give you the best chance to take down those tough monsters.
- Our S-tier picks provide indispensable buffs and ranged support that can turn the tide of battle. Their ability to control the flow of combat and enable their teammates is invaluable.
- The A-tier offers more well-rounded versatility with solid offense/defense options. In the right hands, these weapons can dish out some serious pain, but require discipline to not become a liability.
- While still viable, B-tier choices often overlap a bit too much with other weapons. They may struggle to find their niche amongst more specialized picks.
- Lastly, the C-tier options aren't bad per se, but tend to get overshadowed in co-op games. Their jack-of-all-trades nature makes them ideal for solo hunts, but they have trouble standing out in teams.
At the end of the day, there is no "best" weapon; every hunter needs to play to their strengths. But keeping these tiers in mind when forming your squad can help optimize your composition. So grab your hunting horn main, charge blade buddy, or bow gunner support, and get ready to take down those beasts!
