Episode 9 begins with the aftermath of Todoroki and Dabi's fight. Even though he won, Shota seems to be in total disbelief over what happened. The news of his victory spread to all parts of the battlefield, and everyone cheered his success. We also briefly saw the reaction of the enemy side. Spinner overheard the news of Dabi's defeat but refused to believe it, saying his passion was too strong for him to lose.

While the good news seemed to give a new wave of motivation to all heroes, Endeavor definitely got into his head thinking about what both of his sons went through.

Hawks and Endeavor are continuing their tough fight with All For One, and it seems like he has the upper hand as of now. However, their combined attacks put All For One in a tough position where he could not attack and had to focus on his defense. Realizing he is being countered, the antagonist decides to find a different way to provoke his rivals.

All For One tells Endeavor that the reason he couldn't find Toya is because he took him into his own care to use him for his plans. This absolutely shocks Endeavor, and he loses his composure. He attacks All For One in his emotional state and ends up getting heavily injured because he lets his guard down.

Right when things seemed to be taking the worst turn possible, Tokoyami and Jiro appear to support Hawks in the fight. Although at first, he was telling them to go away since they were too weak, he seemed to realize the position he was in and decided to take their help.

They manage to land some attacks, but in the end, Jiro and Tokoyami saw the true strength of All For One and cannot avoid his attack. The episode ends with the two of them getting badly hurt and Jiro even losing her left earphone jack. All we are left with are All For One's mocking words that the extras shouldn't have thought to be special.
