From the minds of one of the greatest RTS developers from Blizzard Entertainment comes a new studio called Frost Giant Studios looking to revive the RTS scene. Stormgate will be a free-to-play RTS game that will build upon the genre by incorporating Unreal Engine 5 by not only implementing much-needed quality-of-life changes but utilizing all of the newly developed technology to ensure smoother and more responsive gameplay.
Despite many people claiming that the RTS genre is done and dusted, there is still hope for a new golden era that will stand on the shoulders of giants in an attempt to once more prove why the vast gaming world has a place for every game. Not only did the RTS genre bring forth the Esports scene into the light, paving the way for other genres to make their stand among the greats of Starcraft and Warcraft III, but these long-beloved games were the building blocks of most gamers today.

What is Stormgate and Why You Should Be Excited

Stormgate Kickstarter Campaign
The developers behind Stormgate launched their Kickstarter campaign to bring even more content to the game as many fans have been asking for Collector's Editions and goodies to show support for the studio.
Stormgate is fully funded to release. This Kickstarter is in part a response to fan requests for a way to purchase a physical Collector's Edition of Stormgate. We think we've put together a truly special collectible for our most dedicated supporters, but producing the Stormgate Collector's Edition will require a commitment from our players to cover our manufacturing costs.
What is incredible is that in the span of just a few hours, the campaign reached its 4th stretch goal, amassing over 700,000 USD at the time of writing. And with the campaign lasting until February 1, 2024, there is a high possibility that even more stretch goals will be introduced.

When Will Stormgate Be Released?
The devs have shared that they plan to enter Early Access in 2024. During Early Access, anyone with a Steam account can play for free while the developers continue adding new content, and new features, and polishing the overall experience.
