As with any other game, melee weapons in Once Human are not as popular compared to other guns. However, the Katana can be very useful in close-quarters combat situations, especially if there is no other way to attack your enemy safely from further away.
The Katana, also known as the Fabled Masamune, is one of the best swords in the game with a massive damage output against monsters and NPCs.

Once Human Fabled Masamune Katana Location
The Fabled Masamune Katana is a random drop that can be found after defeating high-level bosses, and as of Season 1, there is no way to craft it. However, you can also get your hands on this weapon by opening Weapon Crates around the Red Sands region.
The best news is that these chests respawn every four real-life hours, so you can always return to the area after the time has passed to open them again and test your luck. You can visit the Securement Silo Theta dungeon as well and defeat the bosses by using your Controllers to increase the drop rates of the Katana.

Once Human Securement Silo Theta Dungeon
You will be able to enter the Securement Silo Theta dungeon only after unlocking the Red Sands region, which is one of the final areas in Once Human. Gaining access to this part of the map requires you to defeat the Shadow Hound at the Monolith of Thirst in the Chalk Peak area, but don't rush to find this dungeon immediately.
It's important to note that the recommended level for the Securement Silo Theta dungeon is 45, which means that the enemies there might be too strong for you if you're not prepared with the best weapons. However, even though the Katana is very rare and you might not get it on the first try, you can always repeat the fight.

Once Human Fabled Masamune Katana Stats
The Fabled Masamune Katana is a great weapon that can give you +3% extra DMG for every 1% Durability higher than 50% of the total, which is 120%. When you use a quick attack, you will gain +30% Attack, and the Critical Hit is guaranteed, as long as you aren't playing in PvP Mode.
Additionally, there is also an Attack buff that lasts for 5 seconds after hitting an enemy, and every attack during this time will land Critical Hits. However, be aware that the Katana loses damage after going below 20% Durability, so it's recommended to switch weapons when you reach that point.
