One Piece Chapter 1149 Cover Story: Maid Cafe Adventure

The new One Piece chapter opens with a fun color spread featuring a reader-requested scene: the Straw Hat crew running a maid café. Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, Usopp, a cat, and a goat-human, all dressed in business suits, are patrons at the "Bottakuri Maid Café," served by Nami, Robin, Lilith, and Bonney in maid outfits. Usopp and the cat are hilariously shocked by the exorbitant menu prices. This illustration pays homage to the manga/novel "Izakaya Bottakuri" by Shiwasuda and Takimi Akikawa. It's pure fan service, but we love it.

One Piece Chapter 1149 Spoilers

The story resumes with Scopper Gaban confronting Saint Sommers. Gaban unleashes his "Futenraku" attack, slicing Sommers at the chest. Sommers falls into thorny terrain, unable to regenerate, rendering him incapacitated for the remainder of the episode.

As Gaban rushes to help his son, Colon, a brief flashback to Colon's birth adds emotional depth. In the present, Gaban assures Colon he'll be there soon. However, Gunko intervenes, stabbing Colon in the neck with a sword-arrow, causing severe bleeding.

Gaban, enraged, prepares to attack Gunko. Yet, his advanced observation haki reveals that Colon will die before he can intervene. Heartbroken, Gaban surrenders, pleading for mercy.

In a dramatic double-page spread, Gunko pierces Gaban's torso with three arrows. Gaban falls from the giant branch, seeking forgiveness from Colon and Elbaf.

Colon’s heartfelt cries trigger memories in Gunko. She recalls a woman screaming "Father~~!!" and a scene where Brook holds a young girl's hand, expressing his dream of becoming a pirate. These memories hint at a deep connection between Gunko and Brook. But what is it?

In the present, Brook observes Gunko, noting their resemblance. Gunko, recognizing Brook, runs toward him, exclaiming, "Was that Brook!?"

Suddenly, the three God's Knights hear Imu's voice:

"What’s taking you so long..."

Imu is angry that the Holy Land is being covered in fire and demands immediate military action. In the final panel, Imu takes control of Gunko's body, her eyes transforming, and black rays emanating from her form.

"I will show you...!!! What it means to be ruled by God!!!"
