Event Details
Free Gear Removal events give you the opportunity to swap or remove equipment, such as Artifacts and Accessories, for no cost. Generally, whenever you try to remove a piece of equipment or move it to a different champion, you have to pay a small fee of Silver, which adds up to a few thousand Silver per piece. In the grand scheme of things, this does not seem like much, but whenever you’re swapping entire sets of gear or trying to min-max Champions, it can quickly eat away at your savings, thus making it harder for you to complete other Events or Tournaments.
This is where Free Gear Removal events come into play. During these events, the Silver fee that is usually tied with removing or swapping gear is reduced to 0 Silver, effectively allowing you to move around gear without digging into your savings. This makes it ideal for those who like to min-max their champions by trying on different pieces but do not want to dip into their Silver savings.
If you’re one of those players, then you’re in luck because the event is already live and you can hop in and start brainstorming right this moment. Additionally, if you’re already inside RAID but are not sure if the event is live or not, you can look for the purple helmet icon right below your profile menu. If the purple helmet icon is there, then that means the event is live, and you can click on the icon to figure out how much time it has left.
Another method to test out whether the event is active or not is to simply go to any Champion and try to remove a piece of equipment. If the price required to remove that piece is 0 silver, then that means the event is still active, and you can safely proceed with removing or swapping around your equipment.
