San E Incident Overview

Soompi

San E's case dates back to July 28, 2024, when an altercation occurred at approximately 8:30 PM near the entrance of a park in Seoul’s Mapo District. According to police reports, San E confronted a passerby. The person, identified as ‘B,’ was allegedly instructed by San E to “handle (their) bicycle properly.” The situation escalated, which led to an alleged assault. The attack allegedly involved San E’s mobile phone and other objects.

Initially, San E was booked on special assault charges, but the classification was later changed to special injury after it was confirmed that the victim suffered more severe harm. ‘B’ reported injuries near the eye and damage to several teeth.

San E’s father, who was present at the scene, was also booked for his involvement. It's important to note that ‘B’ was likewise charged with mutual assault. However, during the settlement process, all involved parties decided not to pursue legal action against each other. This led to the resolution of some aspects of the case under South Korea’s "non-punishment upon objection" rule.

Despite the settlement, police proceeded with the case against San E. It is now being forwarded to the prosecution for further review. The rapper previously issued a public statement through his legal representative, expressing remorse. “I sincerely apologize to the victim,” he stated. “Although I should have done this earlier, I hope to meet the victim in person to ask for forgiveness.”
