RuneScape: Dragonwilds is the newest addition to the RuneScape IP, and if you’re familiar with the IP, then you also know that playing with your friends for hours on end is one of the most entertaining things you can do. RuneScape: Dragonwilds is aware of this, too, which is why the game offers multiplayer functionality if you would like to either play with friends or just some random people on the internet. In this guide, we’ll teach you how to enable multiplayer play and the different types of multiplayer there are!

How to Enable Multiplayer

To enable multiplayer in RuneScape: Dragonwilds, you must first go into the [Settings]. Once you’re in the settings menu, head on over to the [Legal] tab. In the legal tab, you will find a setting listed as [Epic Account Services]. Here you will need to update your [EOS Settings] by clicking on the big [UPDATE] button.
After you’ve clicked on the button, you will be shown a prompt with a wall of text explaining more about playing online, which will ask you to continue with Epic Games. Once you click on the [Continue with Epic Games] button, the game will verify if your current platform is linked to an Epic Service Account, and if you don’t have one, then it will create an empty account on your behalf, which you will be able to use to play multiplayer.
Following this, you will have enabled multiplayer and can begin playing with either your friends or other people on the internet. You can also disable this functionality at any point in time.

How to Play Online
Once you’ve enabled the multiplayer functionality in the settings, you will get access to the [Friends] and [Public] World Types when creating a world. These can be found under the World Settings, where you can also set a name for your world and maybe even a password if you’d like.
Depending on which world type you’ve chosen, only a set group of people will be able to join your world. If you’ve chosen the Friends World Type, then only the people on your platform’s friends list can access your world.
If you’ve chosen the Public World Type, then anyone playing RuneScape: Dragonwilds can find your world and join. It is practically open to everyone. This can sometimes create conflicts with other players joining your world just to troll you, so it might be a good idea to set up a password for your world so that you can only let in the people you want.
In addition to the world type, there is also a [Friendly Fire] checkbox that will make it possible for you and your companions to deal damage to one another. If you’d like this to be possible on your world, then by all means, press it. But if you’d like to avoid your teammates hitting you while you’re doing something, then you’d better leave it off!
