Storing your items is one of the most, if not the most important mechanics in any survival game, and RuneScape: Dragonwilds is no different. You will often find that your inventory gets full and that you need to unload it to make space for new items. That is where crates come in handy and serve as your best storage option in the game!

What are Crates?

Storage crates are one of the essential craftable items in RuneScape: Dragonwilds. You unlock the recipe to build a crate during the game tutorial, and it is one of the easiest items to make, which is no surprise given that it is one of the game’s crucial mechanics. Each crate costs 10 Ash Logs to build and has a capacity of 16 unique items.

How to Unlock the Crate

The crate is unlocked after you complete, or skip, the tutorial from the Wise Old Man. After you’re done with the tutorial, you will find the crate under the [Furniture] tab in your inventory, and it will require 10 Ash Logs to craft. You can build it almost anywhere, and once it has been placed, you can interact with it to store items.

How to Store Items

Once you’ve crafted and placed a crate, you can interact with it to store your items inside. Each crate comes with 16 slots where you can store your items. Once you interact with a crate, it will open both the crate’s menu and your inventory, allowing you to move items from your inventory into an empty slot in the crate. You can move the items by clicking on them with your left mouse button (LMB) and dragging them into an available slot in the crate.

16 slots are hardly going to be enough for you, given the number of items that are available in RuneScape: Dragonwilds, so don’t be afraid to create more than one crate to store all of the items that you don’t need to carry around all the time. Just be mindful of where you’ve placed the crates so that you don’t end up losing them!
