Ciaccona is the newest unit introduced to Wuthering Waves. She is a 5-star Aero unit and one of the very few 5-star pistol users, so those of you who love collecting pistol characters are undoubtedly already pulling for her. She is an easy unit to play, from what I’ve seen, and honestly, it is clear that she has one main purpose, and that is to be a ridiculously powerful Aero Erosion support unit. But that’s where the problem comes.

Is Ciaccona Strong?

Yes, Ciaccona is quite the solid support. She can drastically boost the team’s Aero DMG by a ton, and I really do mean a ton. She can also reliably apply Aero Erosion, and alongside Aero Rover, which ends up increasing the max stacks of Aero Erosion you can apply on an enemy, you can deal some decent damage with just Aero Erosion alone. So, considering those two things, she is quite strong. She can also apply Spectro Frazzle to a degree, making her somewhat viable for teams using Phoebe or even as a replacement for Phoebe in teams featuring Zani, but she is clearly not made with Spectro Frazzle in mind.
All in all, Ciaccona is a decent character, but as of right now, it seems like she is a unit that was made to work with future Aero DPS characters who will be able to reliably use Aero Erosion in their kits. Right now, she feels a bit lost and incomplete.

Should You Pull for Ciaccona?

This is a 50/50 for me. I generally really dislike the idea of pulling for a unit that will eventually become the best support for some of the future units. It feels like the FOMO is being shoved down my throat, and I don’t like that. If I pull, I want to pull knowing that the unit is strong now, rather than being strong in a patch or two. That is also why I will be skipping Ciaccona. However, for those of you who are planning on pulling for Cartethyia in the future, do know that Ciaccona will definitely be her premium support.
Ciaccona can also be viable with some other Aero DPS units, such as Jiyan, but sadly, it is clear she wasn’t made with that intention. As such, what you need to consider before pulling for Ciaccona is that her current kit is catered towards units that will come out in the future, and that she is currently incomplete. She might become a staple unit in all Aero teams for the future, so she is definitely a good investment. Just not one that I will be making.
