After 11 years in the making, Skull and Bones has finally officially launched. The game is inspired by the incredible 'Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag' and lets you experience what it's like to be a pirate captain in the Golden Age of Piracy. In Skull and Bones, you take the helm of your very own pirate ship, with a wide selection of vessels at your disposal. Naval combat is a crucial part of the game, where you can customize your ship in numerous ways and face off against enemy fleets. Since you will constantly be battling enemy ships, the question arises: how do you board them? Capturing ships intact allows you to gain more valuable resources, money, and items from their cargo. In this guide, we will teach you step-by-step how to board enemy ships in Skull and Bones.

How to Board Enemy Ships in Skull and Bones

Boarding an enemy ship takes patience and a smart plan. Here's a simple guide on how to do it:

First, you need to make the enemy ship weak, getting its health below half. This is done by fighting it at sea and hitting it with your cannons.

When the ship is ready to be boarded, its health will pulse a teal color, and you will see an anchor icon. This is when you should pull your ship up next to the enemy's side. Make sure you don't sail past them.

Next, get ready as if you're going to fire your cannons but instead press the special button to start boarding. For mouse and keyboard users, this is usually the ‘R’ key. On game controllers, it's often the ‘Y’ or ‘triangle’ button.

Your crew will then throw grappling hooks to the other ship. You need to be close enough so the hooks can latch onto the enemy ship. Keeping your speed low helps ensure the hooks catch. If at least one hook grabs onto the other ship, you've succeeded and can start boarding. You will see a brief cutscene, and then you will enter the menu to loot the enemy's resources.

And that concludes our brief guide on how to board ships in Skull and Bones. While it isn't as glorious as it was in Assassin's Creed 4, and you can't physically jump over and fight the enemy crew, it is still a great way to loot some extra resources.
