The Diplomat Season 2 Episode 1 The Explosion
After the first scene of The Diplomat Season 2 Episode 1, it becomes clear that Ronnie Buckhurst, Stuart Hayford, and Hal Wyler were all injured because of the explosion. In Paris, Austin Dennison and Kate Wyler suspect that Nicole Trowbridge is responsible for the attack on the ship. However, this happens right before they find out about the explosion in London. Kate and Austin go back as fast as they can only to find out that the MP who Hal was meeting is now dead and Ronnie, Hal, and Stuart are in emergency surgery.
While this is happening, Kate reveals that the French think Nicole Trowbridge and the Brits are conspiring to kill Lenkov. Moreover, she suspects that the Brits are the ones who hired him. The hospital gets locked down to keep everyone safe, and even though Eidra tries to talk Kate out of making such accusations about the Prime Minister, she knows that something's wrong.
The Diplomat Season 2 Episode 1 Tensions & Betrayals
Kate can't get any happier seeing that her husband Hal is waking up after the surgery, but they still have to wait until the morning to see what happened to the rest. Unfortunately, although Stuart lives, Ronnie dies. When Eidra wakes up as well, they have to explain everything from the beginning, as well as the fact that Ronnie is dead.
At the same time, Margaret Roylin is missing, and although the Brits are looking for her, she's nowhere to be found. Trowbridge's wife asks Dennison to take the case, and Kate tells Hal that Trowbridge is actually the one behind the bombing. Moreover, she reveals that she called Roylin the night when it happened. When Trowbridge calls a COBRA meeting, she claims that the Russians blew up the aircraft carrier and caused the explosion in London. However, the bomb was made by the British, which makes everyone believe that they are behind the entire conspiracy.
