Although The First Descendant is considered a very grindy game, there are many items that can make your survival during combat situations easier, such as Amorphous Material, Modules, and Energy Activators.
You will gain access to the latter in the late stages of the game, but this shouldn't bother you since it's better to find your favorite character first before taking their Module's Maximum Capacity to the next level.

The First Descendant How To Use Energy Activators
Energy Activators are designed to help you increase the Module Capacity of your weapons and Descendants. Guns can gain 20 Module slots, while characters can reach 30. Once you have chosen a fighter that is worth upgrading to this extent, you can enter the Inventory Menu and start exploring.
In the bottom left corner, you will see all the Descendant Modules you have collected. On the top right side, you will find the Details section. This is where the total Module Capacity and how much of it is currently used will appear. Select the Module Additional Settings to use the Energy Activator to raise the Maximum Capacity.

The First Descendant How To Get Energy Activators
In case you would like to skip the grinding, you can always purchase Energy Activators from the in-game store. However, keep in mind that this will cost you 1,200 Caliber, and you will have to spend real money to get this currency. The other option is to research the items by collecting the following materials:
Material | Amount |
Low-Carbon Activator | 55 |
Conductive Metallic Foil | 25 |
Heat Plasma Battery | 55 |
Polyatomic Ion Particle | 72 |
Energy Activator Blueprint | 1 |
Gold | 750,000 |
Once you have gathered everything you need, go to Albion and speak to Anais to begin the research process. You can track your materials by opening the map menu and clicking on the Access Info tab. Select Enhancement Material, then Energy Activators, and finally move to the Tracking On option. Here you will be able to see what you need and how to obtain it.

The First Descendant How To Farm Energy Activators
To build an Energy Activator in The First Descendant, you will have to get 5 Intermediate Products:
- Conductive Metallic Foil
- Low-Carbon Activators
- Heat Plasma Battery
- Polyatomic Ion Particles
- Energy Activator Blueprint
The research process takes a total of 30 hours, but you can use the time to farm more resources.
Conductive Metallic Foil
The Vespers region on Normal and Hard Mode can provide you with Conductive Metallic Foil. The resource can be found in Storage Boxes and Encrypted Vaults. There are 6 Encrypted Vaults in total, but keep in mind that they spawn randomly. Once you open all of them, you can leave the area and come back to enter another instance. It's important to note that using Enzo will increase the probability of obtaining Conductive Metallic Foil.
Low-Carbon Activators
Low Carbon Activators are located in the Fallen Theater: Vulgus Strategic Outpost at Kingston. However, keep in mind that you need to be playing on Hard Mode during the mission. You will have to destroy a lot of structures with enemies who have very high chances of dropping the material.

Heat Plasma Battery
You can find this resource in Hagios on both Normal and Hard Mode. Unlike the previous two materials, you can obtain Heat Plasma Battery from monster drops, not by completing missions. Playing Old Mystery will allow you to kill a lot of enemies in 5 minutes, which might just give you what you're looking for.
Polyatomic Ion Particles
Go to the Fortress location on Hard Mode and finish the Command Relay mission in the Frozen Valley. It will continue spawning enemies until you complete it, and if you don't eventually receive Polyatomic Ion Particles, you can always just replay the mission to try again.
Energy Activator Blueprint
The Energy Activator Blueprint is a very rare item, but you only need one per Activator. Although many Amoprhous Materials can give you a Blueprint, select the one that offers multiple components. Click on the Access Info tab and type Energy Activator Blueprint in the search bar.
This will list all of the Amorphous Materials and their drop rates. Select the one you like and click on Acquisition Info to see which missions will help you farm the material. If you want to increase your odds, use a Shape Stabilizer.
