The First Descendant Hotfix 1.0.2 introduced some changes to our favorite characters as well as some necessary bug fixes, and even though fans are happy to see Nexon taking care of the game, people are still posting complaints on multiple platforms.
One of the most common ones is the problem with AFK players constantly jumping into the game right at the end of the mission to collect the rewards and experience that others have earned. Despite the fact that this particular issue has not been fixed yet, the developers posted three matchmaking guidelines, and two of them are directed towards all AFK players.

The First Descendant Matchmaking Guidelines
On July 16, Nexon Games made a post on X, saying that there are three main guidelines for matchmaking in The First Descendant and they should not be taken lightly. Due to increasing reports of inappropriate behavior in the game, the developers made the following statement:
While the dev team is working on measures, we want to remind Descendants of the following guidelines:
- The use, distribution, or creation of unauthorized programs is prohibited.
- Do not AFK during co-op play. If you need to step away, do so in Albion only!
- Please refrain from AFK farming during missions.

The developers of The First Descendant concluded the post with the promise of striving to create a fun and pleasant environment for all Descendants and reminding everyone that these rules are applied to build a greater community.

The First Descendant AFK Players
The developers did not mention any specific upcoming measures that will be implemented when a player is caught AFK, but the fact that Nexon made it clear that they are aware of the problem definitely set our expectations high. A large portion of the community commented below the post that they are happy to get a response and are hoping that AFK players will have to face consequences for their behavior soon.
Many fans agreed that acting against guidelines is a shame, especially when the developers are working to create a balanced gameplay experience. They also added that those who farm AFK need to be removed from the game after a short period of being inactive. Have fun and good luck on your next adventure!
