The Sims 2: Veronaville Play Order

Veronaville, inspired by Shakespeare's works, introduces players to the complexities of romance in The Sims 2. It was my favorite one growing up, clearly referencing Verona and Romeo and Juliette's story. There aren't many families to choose from, but they sure make up for it with drama. This guide outlines the recommended play order for the major families and the key events that unfold in their storylines.

• Pleasantview Play Order

The Capp Family

The Capp family represents the Capulet family from Romeo and Juliette. Keep in mind that the scripted events here sometimes don't work.

1. Juliette and Romeo – Have Juliette propose to go steady with Romeo.

2. Consort's Disapproval – After their relationship is official, Consort will confront Romeo.

3. Supernatural Elements – If you continue playing, numerous ghosts may appear on the lot at night.

4. Retirement - Consort will usually get a want to retire soon after you start playing the household. 

The Monty Family

The Monty household levels up the drama. There's a lot going on on this lot.

1. Romeo’s Desire – Have him call Juliette and invite her over. Juliette might ask you if she can bring a friend over. Click on 'yes'.

2. Unexpected Guest – Juliette will bring Tybalt with her.

3. Romantic Moment – Let Romeo and Juliette make out.

4. Family Conflict – Tybalt, angered by the situation, will attack Mercutio. Tybalt will most likely be the winner as he has maxed out the Body skill.

5. Tybalt’s Exit – Once the fight ends, Tybalt and Romeo will lecture each other. Tybalt will leave the lot, escalating the family feud.

The Summerdream Family

The Summerdream household is centered around love and whimsy, offering a more lighthearted experience. It's inspired by the A Midsummer Night's Dream play.

1. Puck’s First Kiss: Have Puck share his first kiss with Hermia, triggering Mercutio’s jealousy. He has a crush on her and is also friends with Puck, so this situation won't make him happy.

2. Surprise Wedding Romance – Guide Oberon to propose to Titania. Get them married during the party.

3. Marriage Celebration – Have Oberon and Titania get married to solidify their love story.

What's Next?

The plot is all up to you. This Tumblr post offers an interesting take on what's supposed to happen according to the original plays. One thing you might notice is that Romeo is a Romance sim and Juliette is a Family sim. This means they don't work together. A lot of simmers suggest you change his aspiration but personally I don't do it. Instead, I go for an even more drama-filled approach and make Puck and Juliette fall for each other. Juliette seems to have good chemistry with Mercutio as well, although he can easily end up with Miranda who has a crush on him. Romeo could work with her as well. Tybalt is a great option for both brothers as well. Usually, I send all of them to University and let them settle the situation without their families.
