Madame Genet was the main antagonist in the first season of Daryl's series. She not only led the Pouvoir group but also conducted disturbing human experiments. It was through her human trafficking system that Daryl managed to go to France. After discovering her inhumane tests and her killing of test subjects, Daryl became the main target for Genet and her group.

At the end of Season 1, even though Daryl found his way, he decided to stay in France a little longer to help his new friends and rid himself of Genet and her relentless group once and for all.

With this season called The Book of Carol, we know for a fact that Melissa McBride is joining the spin-off as a main character who follows in Daryl's footsteps. In the closing scene of Daryl Dixon's first season, we see Carol already on her way to find her best friend.

In the latest trailer of the show, we saw that Carol successfully tracked Daryl down as she found the place from which he was essentially shipped as a test subject to France. As soon as she arrived at the trading post, Carol began her innocent and sweet act to question the men who were there. Unaware of what she is truly capable of, the men at the site discussed her bike issues with her.

However, one of them pulled out Daryl's crossbow, which immediately alarmed Carol that something had happened. With that, the sweet little act was over. She manages to grasp Daryl's weapon and threatens all of them to tell her the truth about what happened to her friend.

Later in the trailer, we see her standing next to a wrecked ship after she arrives in France. Not only did she manage to cross the ocean, but she also saw some ruins that made her question Daryl's safety.

We don't know what happened at the trading post after her confrontation and how her trip from the States to France went, but she and Daryl are already on the same land. We are excited to see how both of their journeys unfold and when they will end up meeting each other again.
