The Earthen Allied Race can join either the Horde or the Alliance. This titan-forged race was made of stone infused with the essence of Azeroth's Worldsoul. They have guarded the Coreway—a passage to the world's core constructed by the Titans—since their creation. Visually, the Earthen have a larger stature and wear gems. Philosophically, they adhere to the edicts of the Titans, their creators.

To unlock this new race, players must complete specific achievements and quest chains tied directly to The War Within expansion.

1. Complete The War Within Campaign

The most important requirement for unlocking the Earthen is completing the entire The War Within campaign. This involves finishing all four chapters of the campaign, which can only be done at level 80. This step cannot be completed during Early Access, as the full campaign isn't available. However, if you're reading this after the release, you can definitely take up the challenge! Completing the main campaign is always a crucial part of WoW.

2. Mourning Rise Questline

The first quest chain required is the Mourning Rise series, located on the Isle of Dorn. Players must start with the quest "Before I Depart" and continue through to "The Weight of Duty." This series delves into the lore and challenges surrounding the Earthen, providing a deeper understanding of their history and purpose, as we've only scratched the surface with their introduction. You need to help Urtago defeat the kobolds.

"I can feel my energy reserves depleting. I will soon not be able to execute my duties. That is why I have Urtago here to take over. Before my systems grind to a halt, I must make sure Mourning Rise is free of kobolds. They have invaded the memorial site I tend and plunder the Unbound shrines and bodies that are there. Maybe it is good you are here. You may have the strength to help us. Please, help Urtago rid the site of kobolds."

3. Broken Tools Questline

Next, WoW players need to complete the Broken Tools questline to unlock the Earthen race option. This quest starts with "Discarded and Broken" and ends with "Reforged Purpose." Machinist Kittrin in the Ringing Deeps will give you the tasks, which involve finding, repairing, and repurposing ancient tools.

"You there! You're here to help, aren't you? The humming melody of the machines is changing, and I... I admit I am not ready. For so many years I served faithfully, and then... Well, the important thing is that I'm ready to get to work again. But you see, my tools have all been broken and scattered about. If you could keep an eye out for them and bring them back to me, I would be in your debt."

4. Merrix and Steelvein Questline

The final questline necessary for unlocking the Earthen in World of Warcraft is the Merrix and Steelvein series in Dornogal. WoW players must start with "How Scandalous!" and finish with "Bad Business." This chain explores the political and social dynamics within the Earthen community, adding a layer of depth to their storyline.

"Did you see anything? I was just at the Forgegrounds picking up a jewelry commission, and all of a sudden, everyone was shouting like the Coreway was under attack—again. But it was not that... Some peacekeepers were heading towards the depot—where crafting shipments are sent up from the Deeps. I bet it's something to do with the machine speakers! The peacekeepers ushered everyone away before I could see what had happened. But maybe you can sneak a glimpse?"

Achievement Tracking

As you work through these requirements, the achievement Allied Races: Earthen will track your progress. This achievement lists all the necessary steps to unlock the Earthen and can be accessed in your achievement panel.

Unlocking the Earthen Allied Race has been turned into a fun adventure by the Blizzard devs, immersing players in the rich lore of The War Within. While the full experience won’t be available until the expansion is fully released, players can start preparing now by completing the available questlines. We can't wait to explore the Earthen Allied Race even more soon! Thanks to WoWHead for some of the information used in this article.
