Zenless Zone Zero: Evelyn Build Guide

Evelyn is the newest character to be added to Zenless Zone Zero. She is the first limited Fire Attack unit to be introduced to the game, and she is a powerful addition to the ZZZ roster. In this guide, you’ll learn how you can build Evelyn in order to get the very best of her and increase her damage as much as possible.

Evelyn is a unique DPS unit that certainly adds a completely new playstyle to Zenless Zone Zero. Most of Evelyn’s damage comes from her Chain Attacks, which boast ridiculous percentage multipliers. She can dish out a ton of damage, and you can view her as a burst unit that loves to unleash everything she has during an enemy’s stun window. Evelyn relies on building up a unique resource, which she then consumes to do powerful Chain Attacks. Managing this resource and knowing when to use your Chain Attacks are the most crucial parts of Evelyn’s playstyle, and she rewards methodical players who love to strategize and think of various combos, as well as ways to animation cancel. She is not as brain-dead to use as some other units, and that may be a turn-off for some, but if you like a slightly more complex fighting style, then you might just fall in love with Evelyn.

Each stack of Heartstring allows the equipper's Chain Attack and Ultimate to ignore 12.5% of the target's Fire RES, stacking up to 2 times and lasting 30s. Repeated triggers reset the duration.
2	Zanshin Herb Case	CRIT Rate increases by 10%. Dash Attack Electric DMG increases by 40%. When any squad member applies an Attribute Anomaly or Stuns an enemy, the equipper's CRIT Rate increases by an additional 10% for 15s.

3	Marcato Desire	When an EX Special Attack or Chain Attack hits an enemy, the equipper's ATK increases by 6% for 8s. While the target is under an Attribute Anomaly, this effect is increased by an additional 6%.

If you’re pulling for Evelyn, you won’t be thrilled to learn that you also need to pull for her signature W-Engine. The [Heartstring Nocturne] is simply miles better than any other W-Engine out there, and while there is a decent F2P option in the face of [Marcato Desire], it falls quite short of Evelyn’s signature.

Just like the W-Engines, the Drive Discs are also another unfortunate aspect for Evelyn, as she doesn’t have a dedicated Drive Disc set she can use and has to rely on recycling old ones to make do. Her best set right now is the 4-piece [Hormone Punk]. This set gives Evelyn a ton of ATK% boost, and while it doesn’t benefit her Chain Attacks directly, it certainly increases their damage thanks to the massive ATK boost.

Skill Priority

Lastly, when it comes to skills, you want to first focus on Evelyn’s Core and Chain, followed by her EX Special, Basic Attacks, Assist, and lastly Dash.
