The Zenless Zone Zero Version 1.1 [Undercover R&B] special program took place today, and during it, we got a sneak peek of what we can expect from the new update, officially confirmed to be released on August 14, 2024.

New Story
After the 1.1 update, players will be able to tackle the [Undercover R&B] story, which will have the PubSec agents, Zhu Yuan, Qingyi, and Seth face off against the Mountain Lion Gang.
One of the members of the Mountain Lion Gang that the officers will have to fight against is Jane Doe, one of the new playable characters coming in version 1.1 and also an adversary to the PubSec officers.
Additionally, during this new story, players will get to control Jane Doe while walking around some of the currently available hub towns, such as Sixth Street and Lumina Square.
The developers have mentioned that for now, we’ll only be able to control Jane Doe in the towns during the [Undercover R&B] story missions, but they are working on making it possible for us to control other characters in the hub towns.
New Characters
Three new characters were revealed to be coming in version 1.1.
- Qingyi (S-Rank) - Electric Attribute / Stun Specialty
- Jane Doe (S-Rank) Physical Attribute / Anomaly Specialty
- Seth Lowell (A-Rank) Electric Attribute / Defense Specialty
Qingyi will become available during the first phase of version 1.1, which starts alongside the version update on August 14, 2024.
While Jane Doe and Seth will be available in the second phase of version 1.1, which does not have a set release date as of yet.

New Bangboo
Alongside the 3 new characters, players can also pull for the new S-Rank Bangboo, Officer Cui.
This Bangboo will perform follow-up attacks when it is used in a team with 2 or more Criminal Investigation Special Response Team Agents.
New Hollow Zero
A new Hollow Zero addition known as [Inferno Reap] will become available after the version 1.1 update.
In this mode, you will get the chance to fight Nineveh directly without having to go through the TV Mode.
To unlock this addition, you first have to clear the Core difficulty of Withering Garden.
This will be a time-trial mode in which you will have a set amount of time to deal as much damage to Nineveh as you can. Upon dealing enough damage, you will reach certain milestones, which will award you with Polychrome and various other rewards.

New Events
It wouldn’t be a new version without some new events, right? Well, ZZZ 1.1 has got us covered on this front. Below you can see information about the new events coming with the new update.
Camellia Golden Week
Camellia Golden Week is the themed event for version 1.1 and will award players with an A-Rank W-Engine and other rewards.
First-Class Customer Service
This event will have you promoting your store by fixing residents’ items. It is a timing-rhythm-like event that will award you with Polychromes, Boopons, and other rewards.
Daily Life of a PubSec Officer
During this event, you will have to talk to various characters to gather scores and earn rewards such as Polychromes, and character materials.
Scene One, Shot One
This event will have players snapping pictures of various characters and locations by using the new filter function for the camera.
Additionally, after the release of version 1.1, players will also be able to use the camera to take selfies.
All-New Program
The All-New Program is a check-in event that will award players with a total of 10 Encrypted Master Tapes for free.
[En-Nah] Into Your Lap
With version 1.1, we see the return of the [En-Nah] Into Your Lap event, which is a check-in event that will award players with a total of 10 Boopons for free.
Other Events
