Lan Yan is the newest character in Genshin Impact. She is a 4-star Anemo Shielder that uses a Catalyst. Lan Yan also happens to be the first Anemo shielder to join Genshin Impact’s roster, making her a unique unit to have in your collection. Having said that, Lan Yan is not the best shielder in the game, far from it, but she can fit into some niche teams that are actually able to use her shield nicely. Best Teams
As we’ve already mentioned Lan Yan is a unit whose kit mostly revolves around her shield. Yes, her Elemental Burst can do a bit of damage, but that’s not really the main point of Lan Yan’s kit. She is here to shield, and as such, we’ll be considering her as a shielder when setting up the example teams below. To start off, we need to say that Lan Yan’s shield at C0 is not all that great. It’s way weaker than Zhongli’s shield, and her Elemental Skill has a high CD, making it somewhat clunky to use. However, if you do manage to get Lan Yan at C2, her shields become quite decent. At Lan Yan C2 you can refresh her shield to its maximum strength just by using Normal Attacks. This makes Lan Yan a good support/shielder for teams that rely on Normal Attacks a lot and gives her good synergy with units such as Arlecchino and Neuvillette, which just happen to be one of the best DPS units at the moment.
