Helldivers 2: Hotfix Incoming For Crashing Issues

Helldivers 2 has become an immediate success in the eyes of many gamers. Fans have nothing but praise for the developers on so many aspects. Not only is the game incredibly fun and immersive but the way Arrowhead deals with its community has earned them respect.

At every moment since the release, the developers have been listening to our concerns and desires. They even went to its community to discuss the best way to stop players from kicking random people from their group. Even though Helldivers 2 has many bugs and issues with the gameplay, most players don’t care that much because they get the feeling that Arrowhead wants to help.

Whenever an issue has appeared, the developers have jumped on the problem and have done what they can. They have created a level of immersion rarely seen before by either pretending some in-game storyline is to blame for the bug or jokingly denying their own content was real.

Helldivers 2 Crashing After Extraction

You will most likely have already experienced the frustrating event of completing a mission only to find yourself kicked from the game and landing on your desktop. This can feel like an immense waste of time, considering missions can take between 20-40 minutes to finish and you can lose all progress. Some players are still getting the rewards for the mission but not everyone.

Helldivers 2 has always had some issues with the game crashing but ever since the latest update, the problem has gotten worse. Arrowhead’s community manager announced on Discord that they are working on the issue.

I just briefly want to say that we're aware of the crashes primarily surrounding extraction/end of mission that currently a lot of you are facing. There's a hotfix arriving very soon that we hope will mitigate this. We should have written a post about this here sooner, but for several reasons we were under-communicative this time. Sorry about that.

There are some unofficial workarounds circulating in ⁠troubleshooting that might work for some. Again, however, the hotfix is being launched soon, so hopefully, crashless diving will be available to us all again soon.

Responding to a question if the hotfix will unroll before the Warbond, which is due to launch on April 11, Arrowhead said they were "pretty sure" but we all know these things can take time. There is no guarantee but with any luck, we might be able to complete missions without crashing soon enough.

Hang in there or perhaps let the game rest for a while. I feel you and glad to hear you love the game, but it will be here waiting even if you let democracy lie for a few days.

He did later clarify that he wasn’t saying you should take a break from Helldivers 2. Twinbeard was simply suggesting if the problem is too frustrating for you, wait until the fix launches.

We have yet to see an official date for the hotfix but we can all understand that games like Helldivers 2 will do whatever they can to make our experience the best it can be. Fixes like this can take time and we will have to be patient. We have destroyed the bots so hopefully by the time a new enemy takes shape in Helldivers 2, we will have the crashless dives Arrowhead promises.
