LoL Ambessa Release Date

We will take a look when we can expect the new champion to arrive in League of Legends.

LoL Ambessa Possible Release Date
Riot Games

Riot Games has done it again. Not only is Ambessa already becoming a meme in the League of Legends community due to her overloaded kit, but also because of the company's antics of releasing overpowered champions to most likely promote new skins and other real-money purchasable cosmetics.

With that being said, we will go over when League's newest champion Ambessa will be arriving to Summoners Rift.

Ambessa Release Date

Ambessa Release Date
Riot Games

According to a post made by League of Legends' official Twitter/X account for the UK, IE & Nordics regions, Ambessa is set to release on November 6, 2024. With the champion being just 3 days shy of the premiere of Arcane's long-awaited Season 2, we are in for a treat, at least for those of us still with any sanity left from solo queue.

Despite the seemingly controversial release of the champion and overloaded kit, it is still very early to decide whether we will have on our hands the lovechild of K'Sante and Yone, as Ambessa will be going live on the Public Beta Environment (PBE) for players to test and provide feedback.

Ambessa Abilities Preview

Ambessa Abilities
Riot Games

As of now, these are the abilities as shown by numerous League of Legends content creators as well as Riot Games themselves. Keep in mind, some changes might apply before the official launch:

Drakehound's Step

Drakehound's Step (Passive)

  • When Ambessa casts an ability, issuing a move or Attack order will cause her to dash after the Ability finishes.
  • Casting an ability also gives Ambessa a charge, which increases her attack range and speed. Attacks consume a charge to deal additional damage and restore Energy.
Cunning Sweep

Cunning Sweep (Q1)

  • Ambessa sweeps her blades forward in a semi-circle, dealing extra damage to enemies at the edge. If you hit an enemy, it readies Sundering Slam.
Sundering Slam

Sundering Slam (Q2)

  • Sundering Slam (Recast): Ambessa slams down her blades, dealing bonus damage to the first enemy hit.
Repudiation

Repudiation (W)

  • Ambessa gains a shield, braces herself, then slams the ground. If she braces herself from damage by an enemy champion, large monster, or structure, she does more damage with her slam.
Lacerate

Lacerate (E)

  • Ambessa whips her chains in a circle, damaging and briefly slowing enemies. Using Drakehound’s Step (Passive) will trigger an additional strike.
Public Execution

Public Execution (R)

  • Passive: Ambessa gains Armor Penetration and her Abilities heal her.
  • Active: Ambessa becomes unstoppable and blinks to the farthest enemy champion in a line. She suppresses the target before slamming them for damage and a Stun.

And that covers everything you need to know about League's newest champion. A very aggressive melee champion that excels in small skirmishes and isolating backline carries, with a lot of mobility, but very susceptible to CC. Will this new release be a flop, or have Riot cooked just enough this time around?
