Tier List Explanation

This tier list will examine some of the most-played League of Legends champions in the mid lane. Keep in mind that this is for Emerald+ divisions.
- S-Tier: The best champions you can use to ensure you are always victorious.
- A-Tier: Great options but lacking just slightly, either in terms of damage or utility.
- B-Tier: Viable and reliable in most situations, you can manage rather decently.
NOTE: Although this tier list strives to be as objective as possible in terms of viability, you should not limit yourself to strictly adhere to this list, but rather experiment and see which champion feels fun to play with.

S-Tier Mid Lane Champions

Katarina
Katarina is the star of this patch. She didn't get buffed as a champion, but the Blade of the Ruined King buff is doing miracles for her. Kata is a highly mobile champion with huge potential this time around, thriving in teamfights.

Another mobile assassin that will help you dominate the midlane in 25.14. Diana comes through with a strong all-in burst, and the ability to snowball early leads into teamfights with her AoE ultimate.

Twisted Fate is killing it in the midlane. Yes, he got a small nerf to his Q damage, but it's not a huge change. His global ultimate allows for constant map pressure, giving teams a strategic advantage in solo queue, where often you can only depend on yourself.

Zoe is one of the champions that got a few buffs in the new LoL patch. Both her Q and W will feel slightly better. Zoe is amazing at punishing positioning mistakes with her long-range burst and bubble.

Malzahar is an annoying opponent, so why not pick him yourself? He's hard to gank thanks to his passive, and his point-and-click suppression is invaluable in punishing fed carries in lower to mid-ELO.

Ahri is keeping her spot in the S tier since the last patch. She has been doing really well on the Esports scene, and she's dominating Ranked as well. Ahri has a very satisfying kit that can get you out of any situation - mobility, consistent poke, and strong pick potential with her charm make her a perfect pick.

Galio rose up to the S-tier in the last patch. He's definitely a roaming monster that can keep the other two lanes under control. Galio brings durability, crowd control, and map-wide ultimate to the Summoner's Rift.

Zed is also keeping his S-tier spot. It's been a while since we've seen him so strong. You'll absolutely be a lane bully with him, especially against squishy champs. Give him a chance if you want high mobility, burst, and outplay potential.

Syndra
Syndra is an amazing ranked pick due to her strong laning phase, long-range poke, and reliable single-target burst that can delete carries before a fight even starts.

A-Tier Mid Lane Champions

Yasuo got a small nerf in patch 25.14, aimed at his AD growth. However, he's still a menace, especially in the lower elos, as he's able to completely carry you out of any iron/bronze/silver situation. He dominates squishier champions in solo queue with his high mobility, burst, and outplay potential.

LeBlanc is still having a great time on the Summoner's Rift. It's thanks to her insane mobility and burst damage. This allows her to snowball quickly and pick off squishy targets.

LoL Patch 25.14 delivered some decent buffs to Fizz. His W has a shorter cooldown, and his E has better damage. He's the king of using burst to assassinate backline threats and escape safely.

Underrated but good choice. Orianna has quite reliable laning, paired with strong scaling. She's also the star of all team fights. She's a safe choice for Ranked.

Love her or hate her, Lux brings some easy skill damage to the Summoner's Rift. She has her long-range poke and easy waveclear to help her even more. We all know how scary she can be when fed...

Annie isn't just a cutie, providing reliable CC, and epic all-in with Tibbers. She's not difficult to play which is a huge bonus.

Neeko is all about skills, and whether you know how to use her abilities. She has an amazing AoE ult, which can win fights easily if the opponents don’t track her clone or positioning. This is especially helpful in low elo.

Veigar is known for scaling infinitely. Pick him up and win your lane easily thanks to his cage and massive late-game burst.

Taliyah is waning in terms of popularity but still remains a powerful champion that denies dive comps due to her CC and consistent damage.

Hwei
Hwei is an LoL champion with a versatile kit. But do you know how to use it properly? If you do, you'll be rewarded, as he offers poke, utility, and zoning, which makes him highly adaptable in most solo queue situations.

B-Tier Mid Lane Champions

Azir got a base health buff and better AP Ratio of his W (Arise!) in the recent LoL patch. However, he's still kind of difficult to pull off.

Aurora is doing okay in ranked. She brings good range, AoE zoning tools, and sustain to the Summoner's Rift. Aurora is a strong poke and control mage who can hold midlane easily if you have a high skill level.

Naafiri is a decent ranked pick but not an amazing one. She offers simple but effective burst combo and roaming power.

Despite Anivia being one of the oldest champions in the game, she is still soaring across the Ranked skies with her incredible zoning tools. Anivia’s waveclear, zoning, and teamfight presence make her a good pick in ranked.
