There are a few different ways to regenerate HP and MP in Metaphor: ReFantazio. No matter how skilled you are, at some point, you'll face the inevitable situation of being one hit away from defeat. In such cases, it's good to know what your options are. Depending on how dire your need is and whether you have the resources to spare, a healing agent at the right time could save your life.

Use Healing Items

There are several healing items you can get in Metaphor: ReFantazio, such as Medicines or Medicinal Herbs that can heal one of your characters at a time, or items like Fairy Dust that can heal everyone at once. You can get healing items by purchasing them from merchants, from monster drops, by completing side quests, and by exploring the world.

Use Healing Skills

Your allies have Archetypes that allow them to perform various skills. For example, early in the game, you will unlock the Seeker Archetype and get the Dei skill that heals you or one of your Followers. Just keep in mind that healing skills cost MP, so in case you're running out, stock up on Magla Pills to replenish some of it. You can find Magla Pills the same way you find healing items.

Auto-Recovery

Metaphor: ReFantazio has a setting that allows you to trigger auto-recovery in case your party members drop low on HP. If you turn on the feature, one of your allies will use a healing skill with MP to recover the teammates who are low on health. If none of your allies have available MP to perform the skill, the feature won't turn on. Needless to say, it also won't work if none of your party members knows a healing skill.

Sleep it Off

After the prologue, at the end of the day in Metaphor: ReFantazio, you can just go to bed, and all of your characters will wake up with fully recovered HP and MP. Since you'll be out and about exploring the world, these things take time and energy, so you won't always want to resort to healing items if the time for bed is nearing.
