WoW Season of Discovery Phase 7 Release Date and Details

The long-awaited final phase of Season of Discovery is upon us, and following a very turbulent and exciting experience, the devs have decided to send off Season of Discovery with a bang. 

From the incredibly addictive and fun nature of Phase 1 to the more disappointing and at times frustrating later phases, Season of Discovery was able to finally transform into a somewhat decent twist to the beloved Vanilla WoW. With that in mind, we will go over everything we know thus far for the last phase of Season of Discovery.

Season of Discovery Phase 7 Release Date

SoD Phase 7 Release Date: January 28, 2025.

On release, players will get to try out a brand-new dungeon in the infamous Karazhan Crypts. The Scourge Invasions will also begin on January 28. 

Another key date for Phase 7 will be February 6 at 1:00 pm PST worldwide as Naxxramas will become available to players wanting to experience possibly one of the most difficult raids Vanilla WoW had to offer back in the day. Get ready to defeat iconic bosses like The Four Horsemen, Thaddius, and Kel'Thuzard.

Season of Discovery Phase 7 Scourge Invasions

The Scourge will continue their deathly march in the Eastern Plaguelands, Azshara, Blasted Lands, Burning Steppes, Tanaris, Winterspring, major cities, and select dungeons. The Argent Dawn will need your help so prepare to face the Lich King's mightiest warriors. 

Level 60 players can speak with an Argent Recruiter within your capital city to receive the quest, Light’s Hope Chapel. You’ll be tasked with investigating the Scourge activity within the major cities and thwarting invasions throughout Azeroth. Keep your eye on your map (M) to locate these hotspots of activity and put a stop to them.

Make sure to also check out the Dire Maul, Razorfen Downs, Scarlet Monastery, Scholomance, Shadowfang Keep, and Stratholme dungeons as you will encounter even more foes there. On your journey to defeat the Scourge, you will collect Necrotic Runes, which can be used to purchase items during this event from Commander Thomas Helleran at Light’s Hope Chapel, including Blessed Wizard Oil, Consecrated Sharpening Stone, Major Healing and Major Mana Potions, and more. 

Make sure to also check out the Rune Brokers in each race's starting zone and major city to grab all of the runes for just one copper. Relics will also be included for the Druid, Paladin and Shaman classes.

Season of Discovery Phase 7 Naxxramas

The iconic raid will now allow for up to 40 players to take on the monstrosities that wander the dreadful halls of Naxxramas. Players can expect new mechanics, and even an "Empower" difficulty increase for those wanting a challenge.

You’ll also discover Sanctified gear which can be improved with the new Seal of the Dawn trinket to take on the dangers in Naxxramas at the highest difficulty. Players will also receive more loot drops when a quarter is empowered, including new cosmetic items for your collection.
