Should You Pull for Astra Yao?

Hey everyone! Another new character has been released in Zenless Zone Zero, which means it’s time to share my thoughts on the new unit and hopefully help you decide whether you’ll want to pull or skip. This time around on the chopping block is the newly added limited-time S-Rank Support Agent, Astra Yao. Astra Yao is honestly an amazing unit, and before getting into anything, I’ll just say that you should DEFINITELY pull for her if you have the resources. Now then, let me explain why that is.

Is Astra Yao Strong?

Hell yeah, she is. Astra Yao is a ridiculous support, and I truly mean that. She gives a ton of buffs to the whole team, ranging from simple DMG Bonus% buffs to CRIT DMG% buffs to even a 1200 ATK buff. And if you happen to use her with the [Astral Voice] drive disc set, which you honestly should, you will add an additional 24% DMG buff to your on-field character. Astra Yao can greatly increase the damage of any of your teams, and I truly mean any. To activate her Additional Ability you are only required to have either an Attack or Anomaly Agent in the team. This makes Astra Yao a great final slot for any dual-Anomaly setup, or basically any Attack+Stun core that you can think of.

Thanks to her EX Special Astra Yao makes it so that your characters can constantly swap in and out of the field, which is great for dual DPS setups, such as Miyabi and Yanagi or Jane Doe and Burnice. Astra Yao basically opens the doors to double DPS teams and is honestly amazing in them, as she doesn’t even take up any on-field time at all. The way you use Astra Yao is by tapping her EX Special and then forgetting about her. Yeah, you can use the occasional Ultimate, but that’s it. You basically don’t need to do anything apart from focusing on dealing damage, which just makes her a perfect support.

Should You Pull?

Yes. That’s it; you don’t need to think twice about it. Pull for Astra Yao; you are hardly going to regret it. Seeing as how support units are the hardest units to be power crept in any gacha game, Astra Yao will surely still be a part of your team half a year, if not a year, later. She is an amazing support and one you should have on your roster. She can fit into any team, she provides amazing buffs, and she can heal. All three of these make Astra Yao a must-pull unit.
